After Anzhi, another Russian club is close to a financial crisis: Alania, which was relegated last year. Following the departures of Welinton, Diego Maurício (formerly of Flamengo) and Rudnei (formerly of Cruzeiro), the latest to leave was forward Danilo Neco, formerly of Ponte Preta. After terminating his contract on far from amicable terms, the player’s lawyer, Eduardo Carlezzo, brought a claim before FIFA for an outstanding US$1 million (R$2.3 million).
