Eduardo Carlezzo began his career in 2002 in corporate and tax planning, mergers and acquisitions and competition matters. In 2004 he founded Carlezzo Advogados and dedicated his practice exclusively to football, bringing together football law, strategy and a broad understanding of the business.
Over more than two decades, he has worked on some of South American football’s most significant matters. He represents clubs, players, agents, federations and investors before FIFA, UEFA, CONMEBOL and CAS, and advises on transfers, media rights, investment and club transformation.
His work across the industry provides a 360-degree view of football business. Each legal question is considered alongside the regulatory setting, the transaction’s economics, the parties’ interests, sporting consequences and the institutional context of the decision.
This approach guides practical legal advice, negotiation and strategy. His work extends beyond drafting contracts to anticipating risk, understanding clients’ objectives, assessing options and finding effective ways to complete transactions, resolve disputes and support decisions on and off the pitch.

Defence before CONMEBOL in disciplinary proceedings arising from the pepper spray incident against River Plate.
Chilean Federation
Representation before FIFA and CAS in the Nelson Cabrera case concerning Bolivia’s fielding of an ineligible player in World Cup qualifying.

Representation of 15 clubs in a CAS appeal concerning intervention in the Uruguayan Football Association.
